Rich's Pro Test ITP

Across two focused sections, you will first explore the structured pathway to becoming an instructor, including prerequisites, training milestones, and the professional responsibilities that define the role. You will then move into the practical application of teaching—learning how to structure effective lessons, manage student safety, and create an environment where divers can thrive.

This course emphasizes three core principles:

  • Competence — Mastery of dive theory, skills, and standards
  • Control — The ability to manage risk, students, and the environment
  • Communication — Delivering clear, confident, and adaptive instruction

By the end, you will not only understand what it takes to become a scuba instructor, but also how to begin teaching with confidence, authority, and a safety-first mindset.
